The Good: One of the most instinctive runners to come along in years. Showcases great vision and lateral mobility at the line of scrimmage. Is an explosive jump cutter who can hit the cutback lane instantly and attack up field. Displays good wiggle in the open field and knows how to make a man miss. Gets up to speed quickly out of his breaks. The Bad: Lacks elite size and speed for the position and isn't the type of back who can simply grind out yards at the line of scrimmage. Is still maturing as a blocker and lacks the girth to consistently pick up the blitz.
Positives: Terrific competitor - passion is clearly evident on tape. Runs with a chip on his shoulder and plays with energy. Has fine run strength and power to be effective running between the tackles and knows how to finish runs. Runs through contact with very strong legs, thighs and hips and does not go down easily. Great determination. Creative eluding tacklers and will spin, jump cut or hurdle defenders. Very natural run instincts. Shows the competitive speed to make some long runs. Takes good care of the ball. Great stamina. Adjusts well to the ball and can shake the first tackler in the open field. Competitive blocker. Negatives: Lacks great bulk and still must show he can handle the rigors of an increased workload at a higher weight. Not overly powerful. Can be tracked down and does not have elite top-end speed. Shows some hip tightness and is a bit rigid in routes. Not always patient reading his blocks. Summary: A legitimate multi-purpose back and great football player who should come into the league and make an impact from Day One. Has the competitive drive, urgency and passion for the game to compete for Rookie of the Year honors. Has Pro Bowl potential and could give a team a lot of comfort knowing exactly what they are getting. Grade: First-round talent.
