The Good: Possesses a massive frame with long arms and good upper body strength. Relies on his length and power in pass protection to lock on to defenders and keep them off his body. Displays good hand placement and delivers a jarring punch. Exhibits good balance and coordination in pass protection when he gets his hands on you. Has some right tackle versatility. The Bad: Isn't a real flexile athlete and occasionally plays too high in pass protection. Doesn't have the foot speed to slide laterally and will lunge to get his hands on defenders. Always seems to be working to stay on blocks, never wins the battle outright.
Positives: Solid anchor strength. Has a thick lower body with long arms, a strong base and good overall mass. Can snap his hips and drive defenders off the ball. Flashes explosive power to jolt defenders with his punch. Alert to the blitz, loops and stunts and will switch off blocks and help where it is needed. Good durability. Has all the intangibles. Versatile enough to play multiple positions. Negatives: Does not play consistently with power. Not a great athlete and struggles to handle counters and movement once he turns his shoulders. Can do a better job sustaining and sometimes falls off blocks. Does not bend low enough to dip and recover easily and can be beaten by quickness once defenders take an edge. Struggles to adjust to movement outside the phone booth and gets stretched at the second level. Does not always play to his size. Summary: Can be a bit softer inside than evaluators would like him to be and looked more natural when he played outside. Has the size and foot quickness to handle the edge. Stood out more as a junior than he did as a senior but is strong, versatile and hard-working and could fight for a starting job readily inside or outside. Grade: Mid-round talent.
