2004 (Sophomore): After starting the first five games of the season, Juwan suffered a shoulder injury in the South Carolina game that forced him to miss games against Kentucky and Southern Miss. He played in the remaining five games, but not as a starter. He finished the regular season with 32 tackles, four stops behind the line for five yards and one-half sack for one yard. He also had three quarterback pressures, one fumble recovery (against Ole Miss) and one pass break-up. He had a season-high seven tackles against Auburn and five each against Utah State and Ole Miss.

2003 (Freshman): Juwan saw action in 12 games, getting starts against Georgia, Southern Miss and Ole Miss. In his three starts, Juwan had 33 tackles. He played 101 snaps in the Georgia game, 81 on defense, 20 on special teams and 91 against Ole Miss. He missed the Mississippi State game with a leg injury. Juwan was the Tide's seventh-leading tackler with 62 stops, including two sacks for 24 yards. He had 11 tackles and one sack against Georgia and added a fumble recovery which he returned 10 yards for a touchdown. For the season, he also had three pass break-ups, three quarterback pressures and had a forced fumble. He had two double-figure tackle games, getting 11 against Georgia and a career-high 13 in the Ole Miss game. Juwan earned the “Woodrow Lowe Most Improved Linebacker” award following spring practice.

2002 (Redshirt):

The good: A fluid athlete who runs well, pursues sideline to sideline and drops in coverage. He combines fine speed with adequate size at 6-foot-2, 225-pounds and reads and reacts well to plays and blocking schemes. He has good speed and movement skills, wastes little motion and has the burst of speed to finish plays. He has an innate coverage ability which allows him to make plays on the ball and matchup with tight ends and running backs. He has a good firswt step off the edge as a pass rusher. The bad: Although he has definite growth potential he needs to bulk up to handle big tight ends if he played on the strong side. He has performed at a high level since his freshman season, but must prove he’s matured after some off-field issues. His overall draft status has been hurt by repeated off-field problems, but he did avoid any situations last year. He needs to improve his ability to jam tight ends at the line. He often fails to contain them at the line of scrimmage and he struggles when bigger blockers get hands on him. He needs to be protected and covered up to run to the ball. Outlook: At the Senior Bowl he gave good effort and impressed with speed and change of direction skills, but was bounced around at the point of attack and appears limited to a weakside role in a 4-3 set. He could be a special teams terror and could develop into a high-level weakside linebacker. A probable late first day or early second day selection, he looked like a top 50 prospect before character issues became a concern. He’s projected as a third or fourth round choice.
