2004 (Junior): After a 3-0 record to start the season, Brodie was lost for the season late in the third quarter of the Western Carolina game when he tore the ACL in his right knee. He had successful surgery on Sept. 20. By that point in the season, he had completed 67 percent of his passes (44 of 66) for 534 yards and six touchdowns. He had not suffered an interception in those 66 attempts. Croyle threw for 205 yards in the season opener against Utah State and hit for two TDs in each of the first three games. He was 16 of 24 passing in the Utah State game. Brodie underwent successful surgery on his left (non-throwing) shoulder on Dec. 11, 2003 to repair a partially dislocated shoulder. He participated in non-contact drills during spring practice.

2003 (Sophomore): Brodie became the first sophomore in Alabama history to pass for 2,000 or more yards in a season. He was the Tide's starting quarterback in 11 of the 13 games, missing starts against Georgia and Southern Miss with a shoulder injury. He closed the season hitting on 182 of 341 attempts with 16 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. His 341 pass attempts set the school record and his 16 touchdowns tied the single season record, coincidentally held by his coach, Mike Shula. Croyle was second on the single season chart of completions (182) and in passing yards (2,303). He also set the school record for most total offensive plays in a season with 413 (341 pass, 72 rush) and is third in total offensive yards with 2,311. He hit 24 of 42 passes (.571) for 195 yards and one TD against Oklahoma and threw for 276 yards (22-of-39) against Northern Illinois. He and Zach Fletcher connected on an 86-yarder against Mississippi State, the fourth-longest scoring pass in Alabama history.

2002 (Freshman): Brodie became only the second freshman quarterback since 1979 to pass for over 1,000 yards in a season. Croyle had 1,046 yards passing. Brodie played in 12 of the Tide's 13 games, earning starts in consecutive games against Arkansas and Georgia. He played a total of 327 snaps on the season. Brodie finished hitting 60-of-123 passing attempts for 1,046 yards and five TDs. He threw five interceptions. In his first career start, a 30-12 win at Arkansas, Brodie hit on 12-of-24 attempts for 285 yards and a pair of TDs. He threw a season-long 75-yarder to Shaud Williams against the Razorbacks. He threw for over 100 yards in consecutive games against Arkansas (285), Georgia (197), Ole Miss (179) and Tennessee (128). Brodie averaged 17.4 yards per completion and had 14 plays of 25 yards or more and four that were 50 yards or more.

2001 (Redshirt): Croyle redshirted as a freshman.

Personal: The son of Teresa and John Croyle. His father, John, played for Paul Bryant and his sister, Reagan, was a basketball player for the Tide's women’s team and Alabama's 2000 Homecoming queen. Born 2-6-83. He is a Human Environmental Sciences major.

Pros: Has a strong arm that has drawn raves from NFL scouts. Has improved in every aspect of play and has the physical talent to become an NFL starter. He shows great poise and courage in the pocket and has the fire to direct an offense. Has a good feel for pressure in the pocket with quick mobility to avoid rushers. Has a compact delivery that wastes little motion and allows him to get the ball off nicely under pressure. His decision-making ranks very high in this talented class and he sees the field well. Cons: He has a thin frame with little growth potential. He needs strength work to withstand the punishment NFL passers take. He needs some work on better foot positioning on the deep ball, going through his progressions, picking up secondary receivers and reading defensive schemes faster. As a runner, knee injuries have taken their toll and robbed him of his speed. Numbers: The most prolific passer in Crimson Tide history. He is first in career completions (488), attempts (869), yards (6,382) and TDs (41). He has a .562 career passing percentage and owns the school record with 190 consecutive completions without an interception. At the Combine, he ran a 4.9 with a 30.5-inch vertical jump and an 8-foot, 8-inch broad jump. He threw the ball very well in the passing drills.
