Virgil is a flexible corner who sits into his stance well and is patient out of his drop. He does a nice job mixing up his angles and leverage in coverage and seems to disrupt the rhythm of opposing receivers. He showcases clean footwork out of his breaks and has the ability to quickly change directions and close on the ball. At times he will lose balance when trying to flip his hips and he lacks the kind of speed to make up for a sloppy transition. Overall, he has enough to run with receivers downfield. He uses his hands well to reroute receivers off the line and exhibits good strength to his game in press coverage. He likes to keep his eyes in the backfield in off-coverage and looks comfortable reading the play in front of him and clicking and closing underneath. He will get a bit soft at times and gives up too much cushion in front of him but has the balance to quickly get out of his breaks. He's tough to separate from in the short/intermediate pass game and consistently stays in the receiver's back pocket. Virgil might have some character concerns. He missed the team's bowl game after being ruled academically ineligible after the season. Overall, he showcases good footwork and fluidity in coverage and could compete for a starting spot in the NFL.
