2007 (Freshman): One of the biggest Gamecocks along the defensive line... could work his way into the rotation at one of the defensive tackle positions as a redshirt freshman in 2007.
2006 (Redshirt): Ellis will be given the opportunity to show he's ready for immediate playing time. His biggest challenge will be his weight and conditioning level. As of press time, he still had a ways to go in both categories.

• A Jamaican-born, ex-South Carolina player with a history of failed drug tests and an assault charge. His massive size, long arms and NFL-caliber anchor strength were too much for inferior competition. Could require extra reps, but has starter-caliber ability if his head is on straight.
