It's been a pretty good first season for Philip Lutzenkirchen but like any true freshman he'd like more playing time. The Auburn tight end will likely have that opportunity in Friday's Outback Bowl. Get the latest from bowl practice and more inside.[details]
Trott relies on his initial quickness and technique in the run game and does a nice job of getting around his target and gaining inside position. He can the hold the point of attack and seal defenders away from the play initially but lacks the overall girth and power to stay on his blocks for an extended period of time. He isn't a gifted athlete in the pass game. He seems to lumber in and out of his breaks and lacks the burst to consistently gain separation vs. man coverage. However, he knows how to find soft spots underneath and does a nice job securing the ball and absorbing the big hit. He has very little upside in all areas of his game. Trott is never going to be much of a threat in the pass game at the next level and lacks the power to hold up as an on-the-line Y.
