Coleman isn't explosive off the snap and lacks the type of initial burst to consistently threaten the corner. He has a thick, compact frame and displays natural body control and power as a pass rusher. He generates a decent pop on contact and is a naturally strong athlete. However, he doesn't use his hands to slip/disengage from blocks on the edge and is easily engulfed at the point of attack. Coleman displays some shiftiness to his game when asked to sidestep blocks and is at his best when asked to take opposing linemen up the field and quickly snap off an inside move. He likes to use a spin move once he reaches the edge instead of trying to flatten out but consistently ends up getting sealed away from the ball. He lacks power at the point of attack in the run and struggles to sit into his stance and stack and shed. Coleman consistently gets overwhelmed on contact and can be easily turned away from the play. He isn't an explosive pass rusher with his hand on the ground and doesn't look fluid enough to play as a 3-4 OLB. Maybe he could play as an inside linebacker in a 3-4 and make a living taking on blocks and doing all the dirty work inside, but he doesn't look explosive enough to get after the passer at the next level.
