Missouri has issues heading into spring, but the Tigers also have some serious weapons in quarterback Blaine Gabbert and defensive end Aldon Smith, a freshman All-American last season. Here's a look at Mizzou as it prepares to open spring drills.[details]
Baston is a good athlete in space, works hard in pursuit and possesses the closing speed to make plays away from his frame. Exhibits above-average quickness off the snap. He has the burst to threaten gaps inside and work his way into the backfield. But he lacks the type of power in his lower half to simply drive his way through a double-team. Gets into offensive linemen quickly and exhibits a good initial punch on contact. Demonstrates a quick arm-over move off the snap, which allows him to keep himself clean and make plays along the line of scrimmage. But this same move allows his pad level to get too high. Thus, he struggles fighting his way through blocks and disengaging.
