The Associated Press' Player of the Year, Suh displays an impressive combination of power and grace in the run game. He has the ability to consistently shed opposing linemen at the point of attack. Possesses a powerful set of arms and hands to get into blocks. He does a great job getting his hands inside and fighting his way toward the football. Exhibits superior lower-body strength and displays exquisite awareness, dropping his base once he realizes the play is right at him to anchor inside. Has done a much better job keeping his pad level down against the run game this year. At times, it still gets high, but Suh consistently coils up and gets leverage off the snap. Does a great job getting inside the body of opposing linemen and controlling their blocks on contact. Displays a very quick set of hands. He's consistently able to win hand battles at the point of attack. Even when he initially gets knocked off the ball, it's his hands that allow him to slip the block and get after the play. Exhibits good first-step explosion and has the ability to shoot gaps inside, but he needs to do a better job keeping his pad level down once he gains a step on his man. But he's at his best once he gets into an opposing lineman and is able to use his combination of power and quickness to disengage. Does a great job as a push/pull threat. He quickly gets into blockers and either pulls the rug out from under them or simply overwhelms them into the backfield. Showcasing impressive body control in the pass game, Suh possesses a wide variety of pass rush moves in his arsenal (club, arm-over, spin). He times up the snap count well and is consistently one of the first defensive linemen moving off the ball. Displaying a powerful punch on contact, he does a nice job keeping his base low when working his way through a double-team. Is very sudden when he gets an opposing lineman on his heels and shows an ability to consistently shed blocks. A dominant college defensive lineman, Suh has the ability to create mismatches inside at the next level.
