Pros: He has the rare athletic package to become a solid NFL starter with further development in both technique and strength. He has great size and good athleticism that has intrigued NFL scouts the past few seasons and his production over recent seasons elevated his stock significantly. He is very athletic, which will give defensive coordinators a lot of flexibility to use various schemes after lining up at both defensive end and outside linebacker over his career. Cons: He is a tall, lean left end with long arms that needs to add some bulk if he is to be effective as a run defender. He has the size and bulk to push the pocket, but needs increased strength and technique work to develop a hump-type move to walk tackles back to the passer. He has only adequate speed to pursue, but is a very effective open-field tackler especially between the tackles. Numbers: At the Combine he had a fine 4.65 time in the 40-yard dash with a 33-inch vertical jump, 9-foot-8 broad jump and 27 reps in the 225-pound bench press. As a senior, he played in 11 games with 58 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks.
