The 2006 season did not end the way Mike McLaughlin wanted it to after the linebacker suffered a season-ending injury in the Wake Forest game.

And when it was all over, the Woburn product vowed that he would come back for his sophomore season with a vengeance.

"I worked extremely hard in the offseason with (strength and conditioning coach Jason) Loscalzo and just all the guys here," said the McLaughlin. "But with me personally, I really wanted this to be kind of my coming out year, to get my name out there and just help the team go to the ACC championship."
