Over/Under: 24 Sacks?

Throughout defensive coordinator John Wiley's tenure at ASU, the Mountaineers have been known for their ability to put pressure on the quarterback. Over the last two years, his emphasis on establishing that pressure has been evident by the mind-boggling sack numbers the App State defense has been able to produce.

And heading into the 2007 season, Wiley, without a doubt, would love to recreate the showing that his defense had the last two seasons. The only question now is who will accept the leadership role and pickup where Marques Murrell, who notched 13 sacks each of the last two seasons, left off.

In 2005, with the duo of Jason Hunterand Murrell tallying 26 sacks between them, the Mountaineers put 40 on the stat sheet for the season, including the playoffs. Last season, Wiley's group put the quarterback down 37 times over the course of the 15 games - 13 in the postseason and 24 for the regular season.

That leads us to our Over/Under question for today. Will the Mountaineers post 24 sacks in 2007?
