Labor Day evening in Miami will be a litmus test for two programs that appear to be going in opposite directions. For Florida State, Bobby Bowden and his squad are hoping to prove to the college football world that they are on the rise after the upset victory over Virginia Tech in the ACC Championship Game and a three overtime marathon against No. 3 ranked Penn State in the Orange Bowl. A win over the 11th ranked Hurricanes on national television would go a long way to proving that point.
